Saucy Sailors make their mark. - 17-01-2010

A team made up of 23rd Executive members, leaders and friends of the group, called themselves The Saucy Sailors to compete in the latest quiz at St Peters Church on Saturday 16th Jan.

But our hearts sank when round one was revealed - a picture quiz to name the flags used in the International Signalling system. Perhaps we'll all try to learn these in 2010 !!?? PICT0132.JPG

On a brighter note, things got better and better, with the team scoring maximum marks in a couple of rounds. But then we were let down by important questions such as 'who was the first King of England ?' and 'What was Postman Pat's surname?'

Overall we came 6th (out of 15 teams) with 89 points, one place higher than the 2nd Didcot Scouts - The Happy Campers.

So bring on the rematch in April ... if you want to take part let us know. It was good fun with a lovely fish & chip supper thrown in.

During the evening a raffle was held in aid of the Haiti disaster fund which raised around £250.
